Pamela Sue Barker, 68 of Ashland passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at home with her family by her side following a courageous battle with Cancer.
She was born on August 7, 1958, in Ashland the daughter of the late Henry and Donna (nee Bull) Wittman.
Sue attended Mapleton High School. She married the love of her life, John Barker, on January 20, 1976.
She retired after more than ten years from Ashland University where she worked in food service.
Throughout her life, she loved going shopping at garage sales, cleaning, and decorating her home. For more than 13 years, she was a dedicated volunteer at the Ashland County Cancer Association, assisting with the rummage sale and other sales throughout the county. Sue’s reason for being was always to give back to others with love and show her dedication.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, John Barker of Ashland; three sons, John (Marsha) Barker of Spencer, James (Jessica) Barker of Lakeland, Florida, and Brian (Amanda Sayre) Barker of Ashland; twelve grandchildren, John IV, Alison, Reghan, Braylon, Brianna, Brady, Hudson, Hailey, Cameron, Ava, Nichols (Olivia) and Holly (Kevon); her six siblings, David E. (Linda) Wittman of Ashland, Gary L. Wittman of Polk, Tom L. (Toni) Wittman of Jeromesville, Buddy L. Wittman of Ashland, Glen (Sandy) Wittman of Ashland, Deb J. Rickett of Ashland; and her brother-in-law, Glenn Hanning.
In addition to her parents, Sue is preceded in death by her siblings, Janet L. (Bill) Coffman and Linda L. Hanning; and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Barb Wittman, Karen Wittman, and Jim Rickett.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan Wells presiding. Interment will follow in the Ashland Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Thursday evening, September 24, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home.
