JEROMESVILLE — There was no carryover for the Hillsdale football team after last week’s disappointing defeat to Smithville.
The Falcons rebounded from their first loss of the season on Friday night by thumping Waynedale 64-7 in a Wayne County Athletic League clash.
Quarterback Kael Lewis threw for three touchdowns and returned a pick-six 80 yards for another score to pace the Hillsdale onslaught.
Mickey Schenberger added two touchdown runs, Mason Sloan chipped in a 30-yard pick-six and Davis Radcliffe and Reed Magers both contributed TD dashes.
The Falcons raced to a 35-0 first-quarter bulge, expanded it to 49-0 at halftime and played the entire second half with a running clock.
Hillsdale is 5-1 overall, 2-1 in the WCAL. The Falcons host Northwestern next weekend.
The Golden Bears dropped to 1-5 overall, 0-3 in the league. Waynedale will be home against Chippewa on Friday night.
