ASHLAND — A months-long investigation into suspected drug trafficking led to the arrest of a 46-year-old Ashland man after the execution of a search warrant at a residence Tuesday.
Detectives assigned to the METRICH Enforcement Unit, assisted by the Ashland Special Response Team, the Ashland Police Department, and the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, served the narcotics-related search warrant at 226 W. Fourth St. in Ashland.
The search warrant followed an extended investigation during which METRICH detectives conducted controlled drug purchases and gathered supporting evidence, according to authorities.
Reginald D. Huey, 46, of Ashland, was arrested as a result of the investigation and raid. He was being held on drug possession charges.
There was no record Wednesday morning on Ashland Municipal Court or Ashland County Common Pleas Court online websites regarding the charges.
Authorities said the case will be forwarded to the Ashland County Prosecutor’s Office for review. Additional charges are anticipated as the investigation remains ongoing, according to authorities.
Officials with the METRICH Enforcement Unit credited community tips with helping successfully execute the warrant and urged residents to continue reporting suspicious activity.
