MANSFIELD, OHIO – Dating can be funny, frustrating, hopeful, heartbreaking, and sometimes all of the above in a single evening. Singer, actress, songwriter, and recording artist Lisa Fishman brings it all to the stage when she opens the Renaissance Theatre’s 2026–27 Ghostlight Cabaret Series with Dating (And The Search For Love) on Friday, October 23 at 7:30 PM.

A comic cabaret with a heart, Dating (And The Search For Love) features Fishman’s original songs exploring the trials, tribulations, and occasional absurdities that come with searching for true love. Moving through rock, jazz, folk, pop, and musical theatre, Fishman takes audiences along for the ride as she considers one enduring question: Is finding true love actually worth everything we go through to get there?

Blending comedy with more touching reflections on dating and relationships, the performance offers an intimate evening of original music from an accomplished performer whose career has taken her throughout the United States and Europe.

Renaissance audiences may recognize Fishman from her recent appearance as Golde in the Mansfield Symphony’s Fiddler on the Roof. Her extensive stage career also includes Off-Broadway and regional musical theatre, including appearances as Yente the Matchmaker and Bobe Tsaytl in the acclaimed Yiddish-language production of Fiddler on the Roof, directed by Oscar and Tony Award winner Joel Grey.

Fishman’s work extends beyond musical theatre into cabaret, television, voiceover, and recording. She has also performed with klezmer ensembles, including Chicago’s Maxwell Street Klezmer Band.

The performance takes place in the Ghostlight Lounge, an intimate venue located beneath the Renaissance Theatre lobby. Featuring a private bar, piano, and speakeasy-style atmosphere, the lounge places audiences just feet from the performer and offers a distinctly different experience from the Renaissance Main Stage.

Dating (And The Search For Love) is the first performance in the Renaissance’s three-show Ghostlight Cabaret Series. The season continues with Leah Gesouras in Have Yourself a Broadway Little Christmas on December 11 and concludes with Adena King on April 9.

Tickets for Lisa Fishman’s Dating (And The Search For Love) are $30 for seated admission and $20 for standing admission. Audiences can also purchase the Ghostlight Cabaret Package, which includes seated admission to all three performances for $75.

The Ghostlight Lounge is located at the Renaissance Theatre, 138 Park Avenue West in Mansfield. Capacity is limited, and advance ticket purchases are encouraged.
