Doris L. Beninghof, 97, of Greenwich passed from this life on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 in Lutheran Village. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.
Doris was born on September 23, 1929, in Ashland, the daughter of the late Ralph D. and Thelma M. (nee Marshall) Gilbert.
She graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1947.
Doris married the love of her life, John A. Beninghof on October 12, 1947.
She was a devoted member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church where she served as a deaconess and on many committees.
She worked 40 years at the F.E.Myers Company, where she had many long lasting relationships with her co-workers. She had a wealth of friendships and her grandchildren adored her.
Doris is survived by her two daughters, Robin (Toby) Crawford of Backus, Minnesota and Teri Drake of Ashland; a son, John W. (Kathy) Beninghof of Ashland; 15 grandchildren, Kolyn (Hope), Kyle (Stacy), Kory (Jessica), Kasey (Jayna), Kaleb (Nicole), and Klayton (Trisha) Crawford, Kelly (Kevin) Boyles, Kimberly Starkey, Michael Mikla, September (Roger) Drouhard, Meghan (Dontae) Logan, Rick Gunder, and Jason, Jamie (Brittany) and John Kyle (Mikatlyn) Beninghof; 43 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, John who passed away on March 12, 2011; a son-in-law, Everett Drake; and three brothers, Richard (Libby) Gilbert, Dennis (Glenda) Gilbert, and Loren “Jim” (Carol) Gilbert.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Ignatius David presiding. Interment will be in the Ashland Cemetery. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
