ASHLAND — Don’t count the Arrows out just yet.
Ashland (5-4) was ranked 12th in Region 7 of Division II when the Ohio High School Athletic Association released its penultimate computer ratings Tuesday afternoon.
The top 12 teams in each region qualify for the playoffs. The top four teams receive a first-round bye.
A win Friday at Lexington (1-8) would likely send Ashland to the postseason for the 17th time in program history — and the fifth year in a row.
The Arrows put themselves in position for a playoff berth with a stunning, 27-21 overtime win at Wooster last week. Ashland tied the game on the final play of regulation and won it on Grayson Baith’s 9-yard, walk-off touchdown run in OT.
Division VI
Two-time defending Division VII state runner-up Hillsdale is back in the playoff for the 11th straight season after last week’s resounding, 33-3 win over Wayne County Athletic League nemesis Norwayne.
That was the school’s first win over the Bobcats since 2014 — and losses to them the last two years cost coach Trevor Cline’s club a piece of an elusive league title. That can be remedied on Friday night.
The Falcons, who moved up to Division VI this year, are seventh in Region 21. A win at Chippewa this week would give Hillsdale a share of the WCAL crown and an opening-round home game.

The 72 largest schools are in Division I, along with several schools that opted up to Division I for the 2026 season. Divisions II through VII are divided equally (approximately 106 schools in each division).

Playoff Qualifiers Reduced to 12 Per Region
