The family of Dave Kunkle sadly announces his passing on February 16, 2026. He was 74. He directed that, if he passed away, we should allow some time before any memorial, which we’ve tried to honor by waiting until Autumn, his favorite season, to make this announcement.
He was devoted to his family, loved family gatherings, and took every opportunity to support the dreams and aspirations of his family and friends. He had time for everyone.
He was busy. Always.
He was an avid reader and among other pastimes, he enjoyed hunting, woodworking and BBQ. He loved conversations with friends.
He was a force of nature personified. Even as he faced multiple serious health conditions over the past decade, his positivity and sense of humor inspired anyone who came in contact with him.
Left behind to hold his memory close are his wife, Jody; his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Katie; his daughter Megan and son-in-law Shawn (Hensley); the lights of his life, his grandchildren; and his sisters, Jan Kunkle and Marty (Michael) Diamond, alongside many extended family members and friends.
He was a member of Shenandoah Christian Church, 5642 OH-13 N, Shiloh, OH 44878, where family and friends will gather together to honor and celebrate his life on Saturday, November 14, 2026 at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers please consider contributions to the American Kidney Fund (11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852) or the American Heart Association (P.O. Box 840692 Dallas, TX 75284-0692).
