HANOVER TOWNSHIP — A Loudonville teen was killed Monday after a single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 12:12 p.m., according to the Ashland Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Allison Bucher, 17, of Loudonville was killed after striking a tree and going over an embankment at approximately 12:12 p.m., according to a press release from the OSHP. The Loudonville student was wearing her seatbelt but succumbed to her injuries at the scene OSHP said.
She was headed northbound on County Road 3175. Â The vehicle stopped after becoming partially submerged in the Mohican River. There were no other passengers in the vehicle. The OHSP said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
A Loudonville school official said Bucher was taking post-secondary classes at Ashland University.
The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, Ashland County Dive team and the Loudonville Fire Department also responded to this incident.
