CLEVELAND — ALDI is hosting a statewide, one-day hiring spree Monday, Aug. 28 for all store locations in Ohio.
The local ALDIs are located at 955 N. Lexington-Springmill Rd. in Ontario and 1033 Commerce Parkway in Ashland.
The hiring events will focus on filling more than 200 store associate, shift manager and manager trainee positions throughout the state, according to a press release.
“The hiring events are in support of the ongoing growth of ALDI in the state, offering customers the ALDI brand promise of high-quality grocery items at impossibly low prices,” the press release states.
Residents seeking employment opportunities may visit their local ALDI between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday to learn more.
Interested applicants must be 18 years or older, be available to work anytime between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. on Monday through Sunday, undergo a drug screening and background check, and have the ability to lift 45 pounds. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Retail experience is also preferred and management experience is preferred for manager trainees.
Store associates earn $12.25 per hour. Shift managers earn $17 per hour ($12.25, plus $4.75 shift premium when performing managerial duties). Manager trainees earn $48,880 ($23.50 per hour, averaging 40 hours per week), with an opportunity to earn $65,000 to $95,000 per year as a store manager (available in select northern Ohio locations).
ALDI staff averaging more than 25 hours a week are eligible for full health insurance benefits and dental coverage, and all employees are invited to participate in the 401(k) program.
ALDI operates more than 1,600 U.S. stores in 35 states. ALDI sells the most frequently purchased grocery and household items, primarily under its exclusive brands, which must meet or exceed the national name brands on taste and quality.
