ASHLAND — Brookside Golf Course hosted its annual Club Championship tournament Aug. 22-23.
This was the 55th consecutive year for the men’s event.
The championship is played over a two-day period, with 18 holes played each day. The women’s championship is a one-day, eighteen-hole event.
The weather was sunny and warm both days and the golf course was in good condition for our annual championship event.
In the men’s Scratch Division, Evan Dennison claimed the title of “2026 Club Champion” for his second win in as many years, with scores of 84 and 80 for a two-day total of 164.
Jack Yonkovski posted rounds of 82 and 84 for a total of 166 as the runner-up in the Scratch Division.
In the men’s Handicap Division, Jason Briggs claimed first place with net scores of 79 and 77 for a two-day total of 156. Dan Raudebaugh was right on Briggs’ heels as he shot scores net of 80 and 77 to become runner-up.
In the men’s Senior Handicap Division, Ray Smythe emerged victorious to become our 2026 Senior Handicap Champion. Smythe carded net scores of 83 and 84 for a two-day total of 168.
Mike Dorr and Brian Westfall tied for second place in this division with 83 and 86 for a two-day total of 169 and Dorr won the scorecard play-off to become our 2026 runner-up.
The women’s championship is a one-day, 18-hole tournament. All of the participants competed in the women’s Handicap Division.
Cathy Staniford posted a net score of 71 to become our 2026 Champion. Erin Collins, our 2025 Champion, was runner-up with a net score of 84.
