In Loving Memory of Mary Louise Hickey
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Louise Hickey, 91 who peacefully left this world on June 29, 2026 in Lutheran Village.
MaryLou was born April 23, 1935 in Ashland, OH, the son of the late George “Jesse” and Lenora (nee Bishop) Sherman.
She graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1953.
MaryLou married the love of her life, Paul James Hickey on September 28, 1957.
She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church. She loved reading biographies, non-fiction, and historical books. Her favorite author was Bill O’Reilly.
MaryLou is survived by five children, Doug (Beth) Hickey, Dan Hickey, Maureen (Mark) Smith, Brian (Christine) Hickey, and Brenda Kelly; six grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, MaryLou is preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Paul who passed from this life on April 6, 2024; and one brother, Robert Sherman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Edward Catholic Church with Father James Wininigs presiding. Interment will follow in the Ashland Cemetery. A meal and time of fellowship will follow in the Legacy Room at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home.
