ASHLAND — Ashland Source’s Dillon Carr talked about the latest local news on WRDL’s The Early Bird’s Word.

In this week’s show, Carr highlighted the need for residential sprinklers, as demonstrated Tuesday by the Ashland Fire Department at the new fire station at U.S. 42 and Mifflin Avenue.

He also spoke about Domestic Violence Awareness Month and read the names of the 10 Ashland County victims that were recognized earlier this week during a candlelight vigil.

Another story highlighted was Barb Queer’s retirement from Ashland County government work. She retired last week from her post on the Ashland County Board of Elections after more than 40 years in public service.

Carr also gave a plug for Ashland Source’s Talk the Vote event happening Oct. 13 and 14 from 6-7 p.m. at Uniontown Brewing Company in Ashland. The event will allow voters to talk about issues they hope candidates for Ashland City Council and Ashland school board talk about during the election cycle. Register for the free event here.

An Ashland Source staff member features top stories from the last week every Thursday morning on WRDL’s The Early Bird’s Word.
