MOUNT VERNON — Freshman Emily Weber won the long jump event with a leap of 5.24 meters (17′ 2.25″) at the Amy Adams Invitational at Muskingum University on Saturday, March 24, which was a new school record.
That effort earned Weber the Mount Vernon Nazarene University Athlete of the Week honor.
Weber hails from Loudonville, Ohio where she attended Loudonville High School prior to beginning her career with the Cougars. She has been an early contributor for head coach Chip Wilson and the MVNU Track and Field program as a freshman, competing in the jumping events and the100 meter dash.
She is majoring in Early Childhood Education at MVNU.
