ASHLAND – The old Ashland Middle School property soon will be put up for auction.
Ashland City Schools board of education approved a contract Tuesday with Dilgard Real Estate to auction the property at 345 Cottage Street at a date to be determined. Superintendent Doug Marrah said the auction will likely be held in September, and the district will set a minimum price for the sale.
The old middle school closed in 2015, upon the opening of Ashland’s new middle school at 1520 King Road. The old Cottage Street building was demolished in 2016, and the property now includes a grassy field and a parking lot.
School board members also approved an addition of a walking track to the previously-approved fieldhouse construction project, which is set to take place this fall. The walking track’s cost is not to exceed $325,079.
