ASHLAND — Local realtor Tracy Jones has visited nearly every front porch in Ashland and the surrounding counties.
Then, she was a substitute mail carrier, but when she began selling real estate through Keller Williams Realty that experience turned out to be more helpful than she ever could have imagined.
Jones formally opened her Ashland office at 137 West Main Street on Jan. 10 with a ribbon cutting ceremony, which recognized not only their new presence in downtown, but also acknowledged the extensive renovations completed since last summer.
“We like the feel of downtown. We like what’s going on here, and we wanted to be a part of Ashland on the Rise,” Jones said.
She and her husband Ryan had remodeled their own house, and were looking for a new challenge. The spot along Main Street seemed ideal. Tracy Jones and her realty team ultimately led this renovation.
Jones had an office in Mansfield, which she intends to maintain, but she and many of the other eight realtors on her team reside and often sell properties in Ashland.
“It made sense to have an office here, too,” Jones said. “We love the community downtown, the business owners downtown.”
The Jones bought the building in late July, and immediately got to work. They removed green carpet and painted over yellow-beige walls, Jones recalled. They then replaced the lighting with LEDs and re-did the flooring and other details like trim.
The Jones Team began moving their business to the location in late 2019, but still have another project going on upstairs.
“The upstairs is entirely gutted. We’re making it into a luxury loft,” Jones said.
She intends to list the loft on Air Bnb, but to offer it to clients — specifically those moving to Ashland from elsewhere — for free. It could be finished by the third or fourth quarter of 2020
“I’m thrilled and excited to offer something different to the people of Ashland,” Jones said.
The space was formerly rented by Compass Insurance and was once a jewelry store.
