ASHLAND — A former foster parent has been charged with two counts of endangering children and two counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, all second-degree felonies, according to Christopher R. Tunnell, Ashland County Prosecutor.

Christopher A. Wolf, 55, of 1051 Westview Avenue, was indicted in February by an Ashland grand jury for felony offenses against three separate foster children in his care.

Wolf’s charges stem from him allegedly encouraging two different underage boys to be involved in a performance that was obscene, or involved a sexually-oriented or a nudity-oriented matter, Tunnell said.

He is also charged with a count of attempted endangering children, a third-degree felony, for allegedly attempting to have a third boy involved in a similar activity, Tunnell said.

Wolf is alternatively charged with two counts of pandering obscenity invoking a minor for the same alleged offenses that constitute the endangering of children, and a count of attempted pandering obscenity for the same alleged act which constituted the attempted endangering children charge.

The pandering obscenity charges allege that Wolf directed an obscene performance that involved the minors, Tunnell said.

Tunnell said the incidents in the first three counts involve the same juvenile as counts four, five and six.

Wolf has entered a not guilty plea to the charges and the case is currently scheduled for trial on May 5.

Wolf is no longer serving as foster parent, according to Peter Stefaniuk, director of Ashland County Department of Job and Family Services.

“All defendants are innocent until proven guilty,” the prosecutor said.
