ASHLAND — Ashland Main Street is encouraging community members to shop downtown on Saturday at the first Play Music on the Porch Day.
Several musicians will be performing at multiple venues throughout the day along Main Street.
“Play Music on the Porch Day is an International Holiday,” Ashland Main Street Executive Director Sandra Tunnell said. “We should all get to know our neighbors better and live music is a great way to do that.
“We should all be out on our porch playing music. The downtown is the front porch of the community.”
Six downtown business will partake in the event. Below is a list of venues and performers:
- Nate Dean at LK Home Decor from 10 a.m. until noon.
- Lydia and Jason Nowakoski at Fig & Oak from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Kayden Rogers at Ashley’s Candy & Nut Shop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Jevan Cole at Riley’s from noon to 2 p.m.
- Chase Kershner at Whoopsie Daisy Boutique from noon to 2 p.m.
- Patrick Jaeckin at Riley’s from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Master TC at The South Street Grill from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
There will also be sidewalk chalk available if community members are artistically inspired to decorate downtown.
“The idea was for people to have a reason for people to come down; people can have sidewalk sales,” Tunnell said.
