ASHLAND — Ashland County was under a level one snow emergency from Thursday night to late Friday morning, according to the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff E. Wayne Risner’s declaration, issued Thursday night, means roads are covered with snow and slippery.
“Roads may be ice-covered in spots, especially untreated bridges and overpasses. There may be blowing and drifting snow,” reads a release by the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff urged drivers to use caution and to allow for extra travel time.
First Energy reported four power outages near Rowsburg as of Friday morning, affecting up to 240 customers. Power at three of the outages were restored by late Friday morning.
The power company did not estimate when power would be restored to the others.
The region was under a flood watch with freezing temperatures moving in Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
