ASHLAND — Ashland Source’s Dillon Carr joined WRDL The Early Bird’s Word hosts Nicholas Stupka and Brandon Gunder on Thursday to talk about pieces he wrote after ride alongs with Ashland police.
Carr spent a total of 12 hours with two Ashland patrol officers in January. He broke his reporting into two parts, with two other spin-off pieces.
The first day, there were guns, drugs, speed enforcement and some excitement on South Street.
The second day, there was a bomb scare, a trash bag and a dead body.
Carr also touched on a longer-form piece he wrote on his reflections during a “Dead on Arrival” call.
The reporting happened after a reader reached out with a question about speed enforcement on Hillcrest Drive. That reporting can be found here.
