ASHLAND — A tornado watch has been issued for 25 counties, including Ashland County, according to the National Weather Service.
The watch is in effect until 10 p.m. Wednesday.
A tornado watch differs from a warning in that it tells people to be prepared. Warnings are issued when a tornado has been sighted or indicated by weather radar, according the NWS.
The forecast for the area includes a 90% chance of rain with the possibility for thunderstorms and a high of 65. The chance for rain begins to taper off after 8 p.m. as the temperature is set to dip into the 40s.
The high for Thursday is 52, with mostly cloudy skies. More rain is scheduled to dampen the area through the weekend, with a chance of a mixture with snow.
