Murder Ridge is just southwest of the Mohawk Dam, built by the Army Corps of Engineers in the mid-1930s for flood control along the Walhonding River.

Clete Reese spent time at the Cambridge State Hospital in 1951, where he became friends with Paul Tish. This vintage postcard image shows the sprawling facility with its numerous barracks.

This map of the area near Nellie is taken from an early USGS topographical map from 1915. The Cletus Reese farm, which was to become known as Murder Ridge, is outlined in red. The green star marks the location of the Mt. Nebo Church, and the blue star is the location of the Darling Run Cemetery.
