ASHLAND – The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Ashland County next week.
All outlined work is weather permitting.
U.S. Route 30 Reduced Conflict U-Turn
U.S. 30, just west of Township Road 1255, will have single-lane closures for intersection improvements by installing a reduced conflict U-turn. The U-turn configurations are now in operation. SR 603 southbound and northbound are open to traffic. Motorists will have a right-in and right-out turn movement from SR 603 to U.S. 30.
There will be NO left-hand turn movements and the median is closed to traffic. U.S. 30 eastbound and westbound will have daytime lane closures as needed to complete work. A minimum of one 12-foot lane in each direction will be maintained. Estimated completion of entire project: August 2022
U.S. Route 250 intersection improvements
U.S. 250 at the SR 89 intersection will have lane closures for an intersection improvement project. The project will improve the intersection sight distance by lowering a crest vertical curve to the west of the intersection and widen the radii at the intersection to better accommodate truck turns.
CONTINUING IMPACTS
U.S. 250 at the SR 89 intersection, between Township Road 523 and Township Road 355, is closed for reconstruction work at the intersection. The detour route for eastbound traffic on U.S. 250 will be I-71 south to U.S. 30 east back to U.S. 250. The detour route for westbound traffic on U.S. 250 will be U.S. 30 west to SR 60 north to U.S. 42 north back to U.S. 250.
One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times on SR 89. Traffic from SR 89, northbound and southbound, will be able to cross over U.S. 250. Traffic is maintained with portable traffic signals.
Estimated completion: September 2022
U.S. Route 250 roundabout – U.S. 250, at the SR 60/Faultless Drive intersection, will have lane closures for a roundabout project. This project will convert a two-way stop-controlled intersection into a single-lane roundabout. The slip ramp for U.S. 250 north is closed per project plans. There will be no detour. Estimated completion: September 2022
