Shirley Anne Stewart, 78
It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Shirley Anne Stewart, who left this world on September 18th 2024, just shy of her 79th birthday.
Shirley was born on September 28th 1945 to Winifred Canterbury and Dorothy (nee Humphrey) Canterbury. Throughout her life, she touched the hearts of many with her warm, gentle spirit, and her heart filled with love for those around her.
Shirley is survived by her beloved daughter, Tammy Anne Young (Stewart), and son-in-law, Rick Young, who were her pillars of strength and pride. She was the cherished grandmother of Eric Simmons (Nicoletta Enix), Kyle Simmons (Rebecca Simmons), and Cory Simmons (Ethan Whitaker), as well as step-grandchildren Brent Young and Jessica Young. Her love greatly extended to her great-grandchildren: Devon, Mikayla, Kallie, Isabella, Jade, Aayla, Landon, and Skylynn, who brought her immense joy and fulfillment.
Shirley is also survived by her dear sisters, Janie ‘Gail’ Lockyer (Chuck Lockyer), who shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and treasured memories as well as Debbie, Marsha and Phyllis. She is preceded in death by her parents, Winifred and Dorothy (formerly Canterbury) Bradford, and her brother, Sherman Canterbury, with whom she is now reunited in peace.
Shirley was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her kind presence and heartwarming smile were a comfort to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She approached life with grace, always putting her family first and nurturing them with unwavering love and care.
A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Shirley’s birthday, Saturday, September 28th 2024 at 2:00 P.M., in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home. A private burial will follow.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of her extraordinary life. She will be missed beyond measure but never forgotten.
