James B. Moore, 75 of Galion passed away early Sunday morning, October 6, 2024 in Riverside Hospital following a short illness.
He was born on May 14, 1949 in Moorestown, New Jersey, the son of the late Brooks and Adeline (nee Stringfellow) Moore.
Jim graduated from Malabar High School, Class of 1967. He went on to further his education and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Ashland College in 1971 where he would meet the love of his life, Jane. Also at Ashland he joined the Phi Kappa Psi where he made lifelong friends.
He married the former Jane L. Ekey on December 17, 1972 in Ashland. They would call Galion home.
Jim retired after more than 40 years from Richland New Hope where he was a marketing and financial director in 2015.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed collecting antique cars, especially his Chevy Corvette and Nova, along with his Volkswagen Beetle. He enjoyed hunting for antiques with his wife Jane and traveling all around the world. Most of all he cherished spending time with his loving family and his beloved grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (Travis Coffing) Moore; his son, Brian Moore; three grandchildren, Brock Moore and Quinn and Charlotte Jane Coffing; one sister, Susan Wolfe of Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey; two nephews and their children, Scott and Michael Wolfe; his former brother-in-law, Earl Wolfe; and sister-in-law, Susan Feldwisch.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years of marriage, Jane L. Moore who passed from this life on February 26, 2017; a brother-in-law, Fred Feldwisch; and Jane’s parents, Myron and Betty Ekey.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Rich Pate presiding. Interment will follow in the Savannah Cemetery. Following the service a meal and time of fellowship will be served in the Legacy Room at the funeral home. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
