ASHLAND — The Ashland Public Library is thrilled to kick off Summer Reading with Touch-A-Truck.
The event guarantees enjoyment, education and lasting memories for all attendees.
Get ready for a fun adventure on Ashland Main Street as the Ashland Public Library hosts its much-anticipated Touch-A-Truck event. This year, they’re rolling out an array of over 30 impressive vehicles on June 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A special quiet hour will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., designed for our sound sensitive visitors.
Once again, the library will be transforming the area from Claremont Avenue to Union Street into a bustling area of exploration and discovery. It’s a perfect playground for families and kids of all ages to climb aboard, take the driver’s seat and uncover the secrets of various fascinating vehicles.
These machines come from local businesses and community organizations, each possessing a unique role and a range of features waiting to be discovered.
Explore an array of diverse vehicles, including police cars, construction machinery, a school bus, a fire truck and more. Gain insight from the drivers who navigate these vehicles daily.

With over 30 vehicles to explore you are sure to discover something of interest. The Friends of the Ashland Public Library are also joining in the fun, setting up shop with a treasure trove of books, audiobooks, DVDs and CDs for sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. inside the library.
They’re also planning a special giveaway for children at their table at Touch-A-Truck downtown.
Be sure to include a visit to the library’s Bookmobile and Outreach vehicles on your journey. These traveling ambassadors of literacy are not only ready to show you the library’s rich offerings and let you check out materials, but you can also register for the Summer Reading program right there.
Make your way to Touch-A-Truck for a fun-filled day that promises to be truly memorable.
