“It’s a beautiful day, the sun is shining, I feel good, and no one’s gonna stop me now.” -Freddy Mercury
Catherine E. Richmond passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by the love of family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, friendship, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Catherine had a lifelong love of music, especially Elvis Presley and Queen, whose songs often provided the soundtrack to her days. She could often be found listening to her favorite music, watching her beloved soap operas, trying her luck with scratch-off tickets, or enjoying a trip to the casino.
She loved spending time talking and laughing with friends and family, and her warmth, sense of humor, and caring nature made her a treasured presence in the lives of many.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, family member, and friend whose love and guidance touched generations. Her family and friends will remember her for her strength, compassion, and the countless moments of joy she brought to those around her.
A special bond existed between Catherine and her daughter, Jane’t, who lovingly cared for her and remained by her side, holding her hand until the very end.
While family was the center of Catherine’s world, she was also blessed with friendships that became family. She shared a special bond with her sister-in-law and dear friend, Carole Richmond. Their relationship was built on years of love, laughter, support, and cherished memories. Carole was not only family but also one of Catherine’s closest friends, someone who stood by her side through the many chapters of life. Catherine deeply valued their friendship and the special connection they shared. She also cherished her friendship with Joyce Rado, a beloved neighbor and cancer survivor whose strength, kindness, and friendship she greatly admired. Her beach-loving friend Diana Eberhart brought laughter, adventure, and countless treasured memories into Catherine’s life. The two shared a special friendship and could spend hours on the phone discussing their favorite soap operas, sharing stories, laughing together, and catching up on life’s happenings.
These remarkable women brought Catherine joy, comfort, and companionship, and she held each of them close to her heart. Their friendship was a gift she cherished throughout her life.
