The Democratic Party reportedly is in turmoil because some members advocate radical socialism.

The radicals supposedly are not welcomed by some “regulars.”

Frankly, I don’t see much difference between the two.

This is what regular Democrats have given us: government shutdowns, millions of illegal immigrants, problems — from crime to increased government costs — caused by illegal immigration, sanctuary cities, and excessive COVID-related spending that contributed significantly to ongoing inflation concerns.

Also, stonewalling the safeguarding of elections, radical leftist judges, identity politics, foolish energy policies, lawfare, and weaponization of government agencies against political opponents. (The latter should frighten every American.)

Who wants more of that? I don’t!

I’d also like to remind the radicals — regular Democrats too — that our nation already is very socialistic. Think not? What about programs like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, CHIP, TANF, SSI, and Obamacare, to name a few?

I believe deeply in helping others. And I personally benefit from Social Security and Medicare.

But if we’re going to have even more socialism, Democrats owe us a sound funding plan to pay for it, especially one that will not increase our total national debt, which has reached a staggering $40 trillion.

Finally, because their party has allowed millions of illegal immigrants to flood our nation, I believe not one Democrat, regular or radical, deserves to hold high public office.

This includes Democrat Sherrod Brown, who is running now to fill the remaining two years of the Ohio U.S. Senate seat once held by Vice-President J.D. Vance, and currently occupied by Republican Jon Husted.

Indeed, what did Brown do to stop illegal immigration when he was a U.S. senator?

No doubt my comments here have angered many Democrats.

They’d be quick to point out Republicans don’t always govern wisely, and they’d be right!

Part of the reason Republicans don’t is we have within the GOP, of which I’m a member, political leaders known as RINOs — “Republicans in Name Only.”

This means they govern, to a degree, like Democrats.

I hope voters this fall will remember what Democrats have done, and continue to do, to our nation.
