The Mohican Area Growth Foundation to unveil new business incubator and coworking space during annual meeting October 13.
LOUDONVILLE — A new space designed to help local entrepreneurs turn ideas into businesses is about to open its doors in downtown Loudonville.
The Mohican Area Growth Foundation will officially introduce The Launch, its new business incubator and coworking space, during the organization’s annual meeting on Oct. 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. The community is invited to stop in, tour the new space, learn how the program will work and share ideas about what The Launch — and the community — can become.
Located at 249 W. Main St. in Loudonville, The Launch is designed to give entrepreneurs, startups, remote professionals and growing businesses a place to work, connect and build.
But MAGF sees the space as more than a collection of desks and offices.
“The Launch is really about creating a place where ideas can get moving,” Jordan Lance said, president of MAGF. “We want people to walk through the doors with an idea, a business they are trying to grow, or simply a desire to build something here — and find the space, connections and support to take the next step.”
The Launch will provide workspace along with opportunities for mentorship, educational programming and connections with other entrepreneurs and community resources.
MAGF is developing a Growth Partner program intended to make workspace available at no cost to qualifying participants who are working toward starting, operating or growing a business in the Mohican Area.
The goal is not simply to provide free office space, but to create an environment where people can develop ideas, test new concepts, build relationships and ultimately contribute to the local economy.
MAGF has spent years working on projects intended to strengthen the Mohican Area’s business environment, recreation economy and quality of life. The Launch represents another piece of that effort — one focused on the people and businesses that will shape the community’s future.
“The opening of The Launch gives us a physical place to have conversations about business, entrepreneurship and the future of our community,” said Nichole Cutlip, development director. “Our annual meeting is an opportunity for people to come see the space, but also to tell us what they think, what they would like to see happen here and what opportunities they see for the Mohican Area.”
The Oct. 13 annual meeting will offer an opportunity for the public to see the finished space and learn more about how it can be used. MAGF also hopes the evening will generate a broader conversation about Loudonville and the Mohican Area.
“What would you build here if you had the space and the opportunity?” is one of the questions MAGF hopes to explore with the community.
The MAGF Annual Meeting and The Launch Open House will take place Oct. 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Launch, 249 W. Main St. The public is invited.
