The sleet and ice that came through north central Ohio Saturday is about to change on Sunday.

But not for the better.

A winter weather advisory has been issued for Sunday by the National Weather Service office in Cleveland for most of northern Ohio, an area that includes Richland and Ashland counties.

The advisory is from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., according to forecasters.

Two to five inches of snow are expected on Sunday with wind gusts of up to 40 miles per hour, creating drifting and blowing.

Rain on Saturday will change to snow from northwest to southeast around daybreak and midday on Sunday as colder air spreads across the area.

How cold? Bone-chilling cold.

All precipitation is expected to be snow on Sunday after 10 a.m. with temperatures falling into the mid 20s by late afternoon. Two to four inches of snow is expected during the day with increasing winds.

A chance of snow continues Sunday night, mainly before 4 a.m. Windchills will drop to around minus-3. Another inch of snow is expected.

The high on Monday will top out around 16, under mostly cloudy skies. The low Monday night will fall to around 4 degrees.

Cold will hang around on Tuesday with a high of 14 and an overnight low around 5.
