ASHLAND — The following criminal charges were filed in September with the Ashland County Common Pleas Court.
Indictments
The following 11 people were the subject of an indictment and have or will appear before the Ashland County Common Pleas Court:
- Joseph Carmichael, 33, of Ashland, was charged with domestic violence and obstructing official business. Charges were filed by an Ashland County grand jury on Sept. 12 following an incident authorities say happened Aug. 26.
- Josiah Casler, 32, of Perrysville, was charged with strangulation and domestic violence. Charges were filed by the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office on Sept. 10 following an incident authorities say happened Sept. 8.
- Zachary O. Chandler, 36, of Attica, was charged with failure to comply with an order or signal of an officer. The charge was filed by the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office on Sept. 16 following an incident authorities say happened Sept. 13.
- Bryan Crist, 44, of Ashland, was charged with an OVI and aggravated possession of drugs. Charges were filed by Ashland police on Sept. 3 following an incident authorities say happened Sept. 2.
- John Gray, 52, was charged with aggravated possession of drugs. The charge was filed by Ashland police on Sept. 15 following an incident authorities say happened Sept. 14. Court documents do not list a place of residence for Gray.
- Curtis Hawks, 37, of Ashland, was charged with domestic violence. The charge was filed by Ashland police on Sept. 8 following an incident authorities say happened Sept. 5.
- Leah McDougal, 36, was charged with aggravated possession of drugs. The charge was filed by Ashland police on Sept. 15 following an incident authorities say happened Sept. 14. Court documents list McDougal as “homeless.”
- Elizabeth Miller, 40, of Jeromesville, was charged with possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence. The charges were filed by an Ashland County grand jury on Sept. 12 following an incident authorities say happened Jan. 2.
- Chad Schlereth, 40, of Ashland, was charged with possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence. The charges were filed by an Ashland County grand jury on Sept. 12 following an incident authorities say happened Dec. 27, 2024.
- David Struckoff, 25, of Nova, was charged with felonious assault. The charge was filed by Ashland police on Sept. 26 following an incident authorities say happened Sept. 25. More details can be found here.
- Sebastian Kane Walter, 20, of Ashland, was charged with aggravated possession of drugs. The charge was filed by the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office on Sept. 16 following an incident authorities say happened on Sept. 13.
